Martyrdom of St. Sebastian

What has been preserved is a Lamentation of Christ in the Church of St. Peter in Munich, a self-portrait in Augsburg, the portrait of a man in the Germanic Museum in Nuremberg , and a portrait of a woman in the possession of the State Gallery in Stuttgart . In the church of St. Martin in Landshut there is still a choir altarpiece with an Assumption of Mary . This painting was started by de Pay in 1658 and later completed by Hieronymus Mänderlein . The Riedlinger monastery church , built in 1656, contains a high altar picture depicting the martyrdom of St. Sebastian shows. Signed with "Jo: De: Pay", this picture is possibly his last completed work.

De Pays self-portrait, in which he is holding an engraving with a rather scantily clad lady, was later reproduced by the engraver Georg Christoph Kilian .
