Johann van Aken

Johann Peter van Aken (born February 10, 1915 in Hasselt , Kleve district , † February 29, 1988 ) was a German politician ( CDU ). From 1958 to 1970 he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

Johann van Aken attended elementary school and high school in Kleve and graduated from high school in 1934. This was followed by agricultural training in his parents' company. In 1937 he was called up for military service and military service in the Second World War , and as a first lieutenant he was taken prisoner by the Soviets , from which he was released in 1948.

Van Aken joined the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) in 1952 and became local chairman of the CDU in the same year. In 1953 he became district chairman of the local political association and in 1955 deputy CDU district chairman.

In 1952 he was elected mayor of the Schneppenbaum community and mayor of the Till office in Hasselt. In 1961 he became a member of the district council , where he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group .

In the North Rhine-Westphalian state elections in 1958 , 1962 and 1966 he was elected to the state parliament in constituency 39 and 40 (Kleve), to which he belonged from July 21, 1958 to July 25, 1970.
