Johann von Pannwitz

Johann von Pannwitz († August 1, 1446 ) was auxiliary bishop and vicar general in Breslau and titular bishop of Symbalon ( Symbaliensis ).

Life

Johann came from the Glatzer branch of the Pannwitz family . His ancestors had several possessions in the time immediately to Bohemia belonging Glatzer country and had likewise Bohemian rule Hummel . For the year 1396 he is documented as pastor of Lomnitz , which was also owned by his family. From 1406 to 1428 he was pastor in Oberschwedeldorf and then altarist in the parish church of Habelschwerdt . It is not known when he was dean of the collegiate chapter in Brzeg . Another benefice, with which the parish Lüben was connected, he owned at the Liegnitz collegiate monastery.

On April 11, 1441 he was appointed titular bishop of Symbalon ( Symbaliensis ) by Pope Eugene IV . Although the Glatzer Land belonged to the Archdiocese of Prague , he was also appointed auxiliary bishop in Wroclaw in 1441. Bishop Konrad , who had resigned his office in 1444, but had to take it again on papal instructions a year later, appointed him official and vicar general on July 21, 1445 . In 1446 he took part in the diocesan synod convened by Bishop Konrad, which ended on July 1st. He died a month later.
