Johanna Charlotte Unzer (born November 27, 1725 in Halle an der Saale , † January 29, 1782 in Altona ), also known as Johanne Charlotte Unzer-Ziegler or simply known as Zieglerin , was a German poet and philosopher .

She was the daughter of the organist and music director Johann Gotthilf Ziegler and Anna Elisabeth, b. Kruger. In 1751 she married the doctor Johann August Unzer . In the same year she published her work Grundriß einer Weltweisheit for the woman with a foreword by her uncle Johann Gottlob Krüger ; the second edition appeared in 1767. Johanne Charlotte Unzer wanted to reach as many readers as possible and promote the education of women. It had a large readership during her lifetime, but later it was largely forgotten.

Unzer was an honorary member of the German Societies in Helmstedt and Göttingen , which were founded in Leipzig based on the model of the Gottsched German Society . In 1753 she was awarded the imperially privileged poet's crown of a Poeta laureata , even if the title had long since lost its social status by that time.

The non-poetic part of Unzer's oeuvre is usually attributed to the popular philosophy of the Enlightenment .

Its outline of a worldly wisdom for the woman is given as a text proposal in the framework plan for teaching and education in the Berlin school in the area "Conditions of origin and reception of literature since the middle of the 18th century".
