Johanna Spangenberg

Johanna Spangenberg (born July 1, 1894 in Trechtingshausen ; † June 16, 1979 ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

Johanna Spangenberg worked as an elementary school teacher after studying psychology . She was co-founder of an experimental school in Gera (Thuringia). She worked as a city councilor until 1933. After the seizure of power by the Nazis, she was released. During the time of National Socialism from 1933 to 1945 she worked as a psychotherapist in Berlin. In 1945 he was offered a call to the Frankfurt School for Social Professions. Johanna Spangenberg became the head of the education and youth counseling center in Frankfurt am Main and from 1951 to 1959 head of the adult education department at the Hessian Minister for Education and Popular Education in Wiesbaden. Johanna Spangenberg was a member of the voluntary self-regulation of the film industry and the film evaluation office and held numerous honorary positions in adult education.

From December 1, 1946 to November 30, 1950, she was a member of the Hessian state parliament. She was also a member of the German Council of the European Movement from 1949 and a member of the 1st Federal Assembly in 1949 .
