Johannelund is an above-ground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Vinsta district . The station is served by the Gröna linjen of the Stockholm subway system . It is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. 1,000 commuters get on here on a normal working day.
The station went into operation on November 1, 1956 when the Vällingby - Hässelby gård metro section was inaugurated. The platforms are above ground in an elevated position. The station is an "industrial station" that was built to provide local companies with a public transport connection. The station has two side platforms instead of the central platforms that are common in the tunnelbana. The station is between the stations Vällingby and Hässelby gård . It is about twelve kilometers to Stockholm Central Station .
