Building history and architecture

The current church building was built from 1857 to 1859 in the neo-Gothic style according to plans by the architect Conrad Wilhelm Hase in place of a previous building. The west tower from the 13th century was raised and equipped with stepped gables on four sides. It is a cross-shaped hall building made of stone with a polygonal, recessed choir .

Interior

Most of the furnishings come from the time the church was built. The older pieces include ornamented organ pipes from the 17th century from the former Martinikirche in Hildesheim , a chandelier from 1670 and the baptismal font from the 18th century. In the tower there are reliefs from an epitaph from the early 17th century in the manner of Adam Stenelt .
