The Georgsmarienhütte church district was a church district within the Evangelical Lutheran Regional Church of Hanover . It belongs to the district of Osnabrück . For Kirchenkreis Georgsmarienhütte were about 50,000 church members in 18 congregations . The seat of the church district was Georgsmarienhütte , the church district office as the central administrative office was operated jointly with the church district of Osnabrück and was located in downtown Osnabrück. Doris Schmidtke has been the superintendent since 1998. On January 1, 2013, most of the church district was merged with the southern part of the Melle church district to form the new Melle-Georgsmarienhütte church district. The parishes of Belm, Vehre, Gretesch-Lüstringen and Hasbergen came to the parish of Osnabrück.
