Johannes Endres

Johannes Endres (born January 6, 1968 ) is a German journalist . He was editor-in-chief of Heise online and editor-in-chief of the computer magazine c't .

education

Endres studied mechanical engineering , history and physics and graduated as a physicist .

Journalistic career

Since November 1997, Endres has been part of the integrated editorial team of the online service heise online and the computer magazine c't , where he was also responsible for training volunteers from 2003 to 2006 . From September 2006 to December 2012 he was in charge of the publisher's internal networks department and since 2006 has also been editor-in-chief of the network portal Heise Netze . On June 1, 2012, he was promoted to Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Chief of Staff at Heise Online . From January 1, 2013 to September 30, 2017, he succeeded Christian Persson as editor-in-chief of Heise Online and the c't. In addition, he developed numerous online and cross-media projects, including Make: and the German IPv6 Congress. Endres was the author on IT topics for the annual supplementary volumes for the 20th edition of the Brockhaus Encyclopedia , as long as it was published (1999–2005). As a freelance management consultant, Endres has been developing digital strategies for publishers and companies since January 2018. He teaches regularly at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and the Academy for Journalism in Hamburg , among other things in the master's program "New Media Journalism".

German Press Council

Endres was a member of the German Press Council from 2013 to 2018 as one of the representatives of the Association of German Magazine Publishers . He has represented the German Association of Journalists there since 2019 . Since 2015 he has been chairman of the two complaints committees on the areas of "Separation of advertising and editing" and " Editorial data protection ". Since March 2020, he has represented the press council to the public as spokesperson-designate.
