Johannes Falcon

Johannes Falke (born April 10, 1823 in Ratzeburg , † March 2, 1876 in Dresden ) was a German archivist and historian .

Life

Johannes Falke was the brother of Jacob von Falke , first studied theology in Erlangen , but turned to cultural history as a private tutor in Munich, became first secretary at the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg in 1856 , then in 1862 secretary and in 1864 archivist at the main state archive in Dresden . From 1856 he published the magazine for German cultural history together with Johannes Müller , which only existed for four years.

During his studies in Erlangen he became a member of the Bubenreuther fraternity in the winter semester of 1843/44 .

Johannes Falke published several related articles on the history of the German economy in the new edition of the magazine for German cultural history as well as a treatise from Saxon history in various magazines.
