Johannes Fröhlings

Johannes Fröhlings (born October 7, 1931 in Cologne ; † June 16, 2011 in Sint Maartenszee ) was a German banker.

biography

After graduating from Görres-Gymnasium (Düsseldorf) , he first studied Catholic theology at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . After two semesters, he switched to the University of Cologne , where he studied business administration and graduated in 1956 with a degree in business administration. He was a member of the KDB Rheno-Silesia in Düsseldorf, the KDB Ascania in Marburg and the KDB Winfridia in Bonn in the Ring of Catholic German Fraternities .

Johannes Fröhlings initially worked for the German Savings Banks and Giro Association in Bonn , before moving to Düsseldorf for the Rheinische Sparkassen and Giro Association , of which he was President from 1981 to 1996. Johannes Fröhlings fought to a large extent for business cooperation and the bundling of strengths in the savings bank finance group and also did pioneering work in the area of ​​European cooperation between the savings banks, for which he received the highest awards at home and abroad.

In his adopted home Kaarst, he was involved in local politics in the Christian Democratic Union of Germany (CDU) . He was a councilor and member of the district council, a member of the SME and Business Association (MIT), the Christian Democratic Workers 'Union (CDA), the Seniors' Union (SU) and the Rotary Club of Meerbusch. In addition, during and after his studies he took on various positions in the KDB Rheno-Silesia, the KDB Winfridia and in the RKDB, which he headed as ring president in the suburban year 1953/54.

Johannes Fröhlings was married and the father of four daughters.
