Johannes Gamans
Johannes Gamans (* 1606 in Ahrweiler ; † November 25, 1684 in Aschaffenburg ) was a German historian and Jesuit .
Life
Gamans became known for his descriptions of architectural monuments and works of art, which he collected on the basis of documents, inscriptions and correspondence. Mostly he documented the history of the city of Mainz and the history of the diocese of Mainz . From 1644 he devoted himself to the history of the Margraves of Baden . He made several contributions to the Acta sanctorum of the Bollandists .
