Johannes Hübner (Author)

Johannes Hübner (born September 27, 1921 in Berlin ; † March 11, 1977 there ) was a German writer and translator .

Life

Johannes Hübner studied Protestant theology at the universities in Berlin and Kiel from 1941 to 1943 ; after the Second World War he switched to German studies . From 1949 to 1950 he was a member of the artist cabaret The Bathtub . Hübner had been friends with the French author René Char since the 1950s and published a number of volumes of poetry. His lyrics are heavily influenced by the French surrealists . Hübner also worked, often in collaboration with his friend Lothar Klünner , as a translator for French modern authors and from 1968 to 1971 as editor of the yearbook for poetry Speichen .

Hübner was buried in the Stubenrauchstrasse municipal cemetery in Berlin-Friedenau .
