Johannes Hoßfeld (born July 24, 1879 in Charlottenburg , † declared dead on December 31, 1946 in special camp No. 7 Sachsenhausen ) was a German customs and ministerial official .

Life

After graduating from Luisengymnasium Berlin , Hoßfeld studied law and political science at the Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität . As a former member of the Berlin Landsmannschaft Normannia II, he became a corps bow bearer of Normannia Berlin on January 31, 1905 . His pub name was "Schwoske" .

In 1908 Hoßfeld was a court assessor at the Berlin Customs Administration , and in 1910 he became a government assessor. In 1911 he was an unskilled worker at the Berlin Customs Directorate. In 1912 he worked in the Reich Treasury . In 1913 he was a government assessor and head of the main customs office in Eydtkuhnen .

During the First World War he served in the Imperial Navy , most recently as Lieutenant Lieutenant . R. In 1915 he was at the head office in Kassel. In 1916 he was promoted to government councilor. In 1918 he was employed in the Prussian Ministry of Finance , where in 1919 he became a secret finance councilor and lecturer. In 1920 he became Ministerialrat in the Reich Ministry of Finance , in which he headed Department II as Ministerialdirigent from 1927 .

In 1932 he was President of the State Tax Office in Breslau . In 1933 he initially took on the business of President of the State Tax Office of Upper Silesia and then took over this office. In 1936 he became President of the Brandenburg State Tax Office in Berlin.

Memberships

After being a member of the German National People's Party until 1924 , he became a member of the NSDAP at the end of 1936 (membership number 2.030.758). In March 1937, Reich Finance Minister Schwerin von Krosigk appointed him Inspector General of the Customs Border Guard . This was preceded by a dispute between the ministry and Hermann Göring and Heinrich Himmler about control of the imperial borders.

In the SS, Hoßfeld was Sturmführer (1934) and Hauptsturmführer (1937). He was a member of the National Socialist People's Welfare Association and the Association of National Socialist German Lawyers .
