Johannes Humann

Johannes Humann (born April 8, 1880 in Neuenkirchen ; † February 28, 1941 ibid) was a German farmer and politician ( center ).

Life

The son of the farmer and center politician Heinrich Humann attended high school in Rietberg , which he left with the upper secondary school leaving certificate . He then completed an apprenticeship in agriculture. In 1910 he took over the management of his father's estate (Hof Humann) in Neuenkirchen, which he subsequently managed. In addition to his professional activity, he was the deputy director of the agricultural district association for the Wiedenbrück district , chairman of the Neuenkirchen local agricultural association and chairman of several agricultural cooperatives.

Humann had been the head of the Neuenkirchen community since 1915 and a managing member of the local savings and loan fund that his father had previously founded. Within the Center Party, he was elected first chairman of the Wiedenbrück district association in 1919. He was a member of the official representation and first alderman of the Rietberg office , member of the district council and district committee of the Wiedenbrück district and member of the board of the Prussian district assembly in Berlin . He had been a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia since 1919 and was a deputy member of the Prussian State Council from January 1930 to May 1932 . In April 1932 he was elected as a member of the Prussian state parliament, to which he belonged until the committee was dissolved in autumn 1933. In parliament he represented constituency 17 (Westphalia-North).

After the National Socialists came to power in 1933, Humann had to give up his office as community leader.

Honors

In Rietberg-Neuenkirchen, the Humannsweg was named after him and his father. In 2014, an information board was placed under the street sign.
