Johannes Loer

Johannes Loer (born June 3, 1984 ) is a German designer (communication design).

Career

Johannes Loer studied communication design from 2005 to 2009 at the Ruhrakademie Schwerte. During his studies in 2008 he was nominated for the final round of the iF concept award, a competition of the iF Industry Forum Design for students and graduates. He designed his diploma thesis on "File 73", a reinterpretation of the children's book by Struwwelpeter . In 2009, Jürgen Störr, head of the Ruhr Academy, awarded him his diploma. In 2010, his diploma thesis formed the basis for winning the Red Dot Design Award and its awarding by the initiator Peter Zec in the category "Editorial - best of the best".

He is married and lives with his wife and three children in Selm-Bork.

In order to implement his professional design in the areas of visual communication and graphic information processing, Johannes Loer works as an independent designer with a focus on corporate communication and brand design. He founded an independent design office in 2010. His “metamorphic designwerk” won the 2011 Red Dot Design Award (“Posters” category). He also gives lectures on marketing and design as a freelance lecturer. Johannes Loer is a member of the AGD ( Alliance of German Designers ) and has been a member of iF since 2011 (member of the iF Industrie Forum Design eV ).

Awards

  • 2010: Red Dot Design Award (“best of the best”) - “File 73” shows the well-known children's book “Der Struwwelpeter” on the occasion of the 200th birthday of its author through detailed criminal files in a new form.
  • 2011: Red Dot Design Award - “The League of Truly Extraordinary Gentlemen”, poster to commemorate and appreciate Prof. Kurt Weidemann
