Johannes Mager

Johannes Mager (* 1925 in Dresden ; † April 5, 2015 in Dresden) was a German art scholar , journalist and author . The focus of his scientific work was salt and salt production .

Life

Johannes Mager studied mechanical engineering at the engineering schools in Aue, Dresden and Leipzig. From 1944 to 1947 he was in military service and in Soviet captivity, from which he was released as a dystrophic .

From 1949 he studied pedagogy with a focus on natural sciences, followed by external studies at the Dresden University of Technology (history of architecture) and at the universities in Leipzig and Halle (art history, archeology, German studies). 1978 was skimmed at the Martin Luther University of Halle-Wittenberg on the Electorate of Saxony Saline beings to Dr. phil. PhD .

Mager was versatile and scientifically active on a fee basis, for example for the Halloren and Salinemuseum in Halle, the office for architecture-related art and monument preservation in Leipzig, the Institute for Monument Preservation Halle and the Institute for Welding Technology Halle. From 1993 he worked for the Munich Academic Center and from 1995 worked for the Bavarian salt exhibition "Salt Makes History" in the House of Bavarian History .
