Johannes Olav Fallize (born November 9, 1844 in Bettelange ; † October 23, 1933 in Ville de Luxembourg ) was the Shepherd of the Catholic Church in Norway from 1887 to 1922.

Life

He was ordained a priest on April 8, 1871 . Pope Pius XI appointed him on May 18, 1887 Prefect of Norway and on March 15, 1892 Vicar Apostolic of Norway and Svalbard and Titular Bishop of Elusa .

The retired archbishop of Cologne , Paul Ludolf Cardinal Melchers SJ , gave him on 19 March of the same year in the collegium germanicum et hungaricum the episcopal ordination ; Co-consecrators were Victor-Jean-Joseph-Marie van den Branden de Reeth , auxiliary bishop in Mechelen , and Tancredo Fausti .

After resigning as Vicar Apostolic on June 21, 1922, the Pope appointed him titular Archbishop of Chalcis in Graecia on October 9, 1922 .
