Johannes Schmitt (born May 19, 1853 in Daubenbovenvorhof ; † July 11, 1920 in Reichenbach ) was a landowner and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Schmitt attended a private school in Daubornerhof and the secondary school in Kaiserslautern . From 1872 to 1873 he completed his military service. Then he was a landowner and mill owner in Reichenbach. He was also a district committee member in Homburg and a member of the supervisory board of the Palatinate Central Agricultural Cooperative.

From January to June 1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency Pfalz 5 ( Homburg , Kusel ) and the National Liberal Party . Between 1896 and 1904 he was a member of the Bavarian Chamber of Deputies .
