Johannes Seiler
Johannes Seiler (born August 5, 1871 in Nuremberg , † August 23, 1954 in Neunhof near Nuremberg) was a German sculptor and painter .
Johannes Seiler was the son of the 2nd Mayor of Nuremberg Christoph von Seiler (1822–1904). After attending the Nuremberg School of Applied Arts , he studied sculpture from 1890 to 1897 at the Munich Art Academy under Syrius Eberle and painting under Hermann Groeber and Bernhard Buttersack . After a long stay in Italy, he lived and worked in Munich from 1898 and in Nuremberg from 1913. From 1900 he also turned to landscape painting.
