Johannes Stein (politician, 1776)

Johannes Stein (born March 25, 1776 in Ober-Breidenbach ; † November 19, 1856 ibid) was a Hessian economist and politician and a member of the 2nd Chamber of the Estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Johannes Stein was the son of Johann Heinrich Stein and his wife Anna Maria, née Weitzel. Stein, who was of Protestant faith, was an economist and mayor in Ober-Breidenbach and married Elisabetha Katharina née Mull (1774–1855).

From 1847 to 1849 he was a member of the Second Chamber of the Estates. He was elected for the constituency of Oberhessen 6 / Romrod .
