Johannes Tecklenburg

Johannes Tecklenburg (born January 22, 1646 in Hamburg ; † December 27, 1712 ibid) was a German lawyer , senior senior secretary and Senate Syndic of the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.

Life

Born in Hamburg, Tecklenburg studied after his school education at the University of Helmstedt under Georg Werner (1608–1671) and at the University of Tübingen under Wolfgang Adam Lauterbach (1618–1678). He completed his studies in Tübingen on October 13, 1669 as a licentiate in both canonical and secular law. He returned to Hamburg and was a lawyer admitted. In 1685 he was a judge at the Hamburg Lower Court . On June 10, 1688 he succeeded Hartwig Bambamiuselected senior secretary and administered this office for 22 years before he was elected Senate Syndicus on November 10, 1710. His successor as senior senior secretary was the future mayor of Hamburg Hinrich Diederich Wiese (1676–1728). Tecklenburg died in 1712 at the age of 66.

family

Tecklenburg was the son of the Hamburg merchant Hinrich Tecklenburg (1618–1687) with Cecilia Schmid. In 1686 he married Rahel Stolze, daughter of Magnus Stolze. His son Magnus died at a young age. Of his daughters, Ilsabe Cecilie married Peter Luttas in 1722 and Anna Katharina married the lawyer Hieronymus Nicolaus Gerckens in 1730.
