Johann Wittich

Johann Wittich - Latinized Johannes Wittichius (* 1537 in Weimar ; † 1596 ), was a German doctor. He was the personal physician of the Counts of Schwarzburg and Stadtphysicus in Arnstadt and an author .

Life

Johann Wittich studied medicine in Jena and Vienna . This was followed by employment as a doctor in Sangerhausen , Eisleben and with the Counts of Mansfeld . From 1578 he was the personal physician of the Counts of Schwarzburg and city ​​doctor in Arnstadt. During this time he published a number of books on medical topics, some of which he dedicated to his sovereigns Johann Günther and Christian Günther.
