Johannishof is part of the municipality of Oberhaid in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg . Johannishof is a good 1.5 kilometers northeast of Oberhaid.

Johannishof lies at an altitude of 277 to 284 meters. Neighboring towns are Kemmern in the northeast , Dörfleins in the southeast , Oberhaid in the southwest and Sandhof in the northwest .

history

The farm was first mentioned in 1147 when the Church of St. John was consecrated there. Around 1400 St. Johann was referred to as a parish. How big it was is not known. Around the year 1575 the parish was reduced to the status of a chapel. The St. Johann chapel was demolished in 1862 and rebuilt stone by stone in the Schweisdorf district of Scheßlitz . After secularization , Johannishof became a state forester's house, which was occupied by a forest warden until 1976. Today Johannishof is privately owned.
