John Edwin Cutler (born June 8, 1962 in Manchester , United Kingdom ) is a former New Zealand sailor .
successes
At World Championships in 1980 in Kingston , John Cutler won the bronze medal in the laser boat class . Eight years later he took part in the boat class Finn-Dinghy at the Olympic Games in Seoul . In these he won two of the total of seven races and finished the regatta with 45 points in third place behind José Luis Doreste and Peter Holmberg , so that he won the bronze medal. At the national level he secured the titles in the Finn dinghy from 1985 to 1988. For the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona he was a reservist, but was not used.
Between 1992 and 2007 he sailed in the America's Cup several times .
