Küsel (Hohenberg-Krusemark)

Küsel is a residential area in the Schwarzholz district of the Hohenberg-Krusemark municipality in the Stendal district , Saxony-Anhalt .

geography

The settlement is on the "Küsel" road, 1½ kilometers northwest of Schwarzholz and 2 kilometers east of Hindenburg in the Altmark on Seegraben Iden, which becomes Hufergraben to the west of the village.

Neighboring towns are Hindenburg in the west, Klein Hindenburg in the northwest, Starbeck in the east and Schwarzholz in the southeast.

history

The first written mention comes from the year 1801 as "Der Küsel" or "Krusel". Friedrich Wilhelm August Bratring called in his description of the state of the Mark Brandenburg "a free farm and 4 colonist families in black wood". The owner was the Rittmeister von Knobloch. In 1818 Küsel was a farm with two houses. In 1840 the Freihof had moved in for a long time and was united with Osterholz . In 1885 and 1895 a distinction was made between Altenküsel and Hohenküsel. In 1905 there was only Küsel and Hoher Küsel instead. Later only Küsel.
