John Disley
John Ivor Disley (born November 20, 1928 in Corris , Gwynedd , † February 8, 2016 ) was a British athlete .
At the Olympic Games, the obstacle runner won bronze over the 3000 m obstacle in Helsinki in 1952 and was sixth in Melbourne in 1956 .
In 1952, 1955 and 1957 he was British champion. He set his best time of 8: 44.2 minutes on September 11, 1955 in Moscow . In 1954 he started at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver in the mile run for Wales , but dropped out in the run-up.
He was married to the athlete Sylvia Cheeseman .
