John Lunn

John Lunn (born May 13, 1956 in Glasgow , Scotland ) is a British composer .

Life

John Lunn studied music at the University of Glasgow and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology . Later he played at times as a bass player, keyboard player and composer in the funk band Man Jumping before he came to film composition through theater work. Since the late 1980s he has mainly composed music for British television productions such as The Wisdom of the Crocodiles , Get Real - Von Mann zu Mann and Bleak House . Most recently, he is best known for the music on the television series Downton Abbey . At the same time, Lunn composed several operas. So were Misper , (1997) Zoë (2000) and Tangier Tattoo (2006) at the Glyndebourne Festival Opera listed. With Mathematics of a Kiss he wrote an opera especially for the English National Opera .
