reception
Cineclub.de wrote about the first season: “'Grantchester' shows the experiences of the young pastor Sidney Chambers and his friend Inspector Keating around 1953 in the rural area of Great Britain. The TV version of the book series by James Runcie impresses with its contemporary staging, a good cast, interesting character depth and corresponding further developments in content. "
Filmkuratorium.de says at the beginning (also about the first season): “As unmistakable as this style is, you immediately know where you are. The construction of the church, the shape of the vehicles, even the brick walls: Everything points to England, because the Anglo-Saxon flair cannot easily be detached from its homeland "and concludes with:" Sidney Chambers and Geordie Keating: After the six episodes of the You don't want to do without it in the first season - luckily more episodes are being shot.
