The Munich Synchron GmbH (until summer 2019 Bavaria Synchron GmbH ) is a German production company for the synchronization of films and television series based in Grünwald - Geiselgasteig .
history
Bavaria Film dubbed the first foreign language films as early as the mid-1930s , including Das Rätsel von Monte Christo . A separate dubbing department was set up in the mid-1950s and mainly tasked with editing films from the Bavaria distribution program (e.g. Rififi ; It's a shame that you're a rascal ; Die Sklavenkarawane ).
With the beginning of the television age and the new partners WDR and SDR , the number of synchronizations - now mainly for ARD - increased at Bavaria Atelier from 1959 onwards. Some of the best-known productions that were dubbed at the time include the television series 77 Sunset Strip , Simon Templar and Kobra, Take Over . Further orders in the 1970s and 1980s included the series Cannon , Our Little Farm , Falcon Crest and Das A-Team . In the early 1990s, In a Secret Mission and In the Heat of the Night followed .
Since 1992 Bavaria has been working on a large scale for the RTL group , including Law & Order , Beverly Hills, 90210 , Melrose Place , Dr. Quinn - a passionate doctor , A Touch of Heaven , Hercules , Xena or Dark Angel . The most recently dubbed TV series include Criminal Intent , Law & Order: Special Victims Unit , 90210 and Fresh Off the Boat .
On January 1, 2009, Bavaria Film entered into a partnership with Film- & Fernseh-Synchron GmbH (FFS). For this purpose, the dubbing department of Bavaria Film GmbH was spun off into Bavaria Synchron GmbH, which however remains independent of FFS under company law. Bavaria Synchron has been called Münchner Synchron since summer 2019.
