John Sutherland (singer)

John Steven Sutherland (born March 11, 1983 in Cleveland ) is a former American singer who became known as a member of the boy group B3 .

Life

John Sutherland was born one of four children to Pam and David Sutherland. He has a sister named Kristen and two brothers named Scott and Danny. He spent his childhood and youth in Dublin, a suburb of Columbus (Ohio) . At the age of 17 he moved to Manhattan on the advice of his agent.

In 2001 the boy group B3 was founded. She had great success in German-speaking countries. The group consisted of Sutherland from Timothy Cruz and Rod Michael , who was later replaced by Blair Late. In 2004 the band broke up.

After separating from B3, Sutherland also worked as an actor in addition to his solo activities. He appeared in the series Law & Order (2001) and Law & Order: New York (2006) and starred in the film Band on the Run , which was not released.

In 2005 Sutherland started a solo career. The first song after his B3 career was One True Heart , a duet with singer Sophie B. Hawkins . The song was released as part of the soundtrack for the cartoon Nutcracker and the Mouse King . Two singles followed in 2005: My Love is Crazy and Keep Talking . The first song reached number 67, the second number 100 in the German charts. In 2006 the album Don't Look Back followed and the single Rocket Man , which made it to number 69 in the charts. Rocket Man was used to advertise the 2006 Wok World Cup hosted by Stefan Raab . The album couldn't get into the charts.

A reunion tour of B3 was planned for summer 2009, but did not take place.

In 2006, Sutherland officially ended his career and retired into private life. Today he works in sales for a New York hotel.
