The Johnson Hill is a 230  m high and glaciated hills of basaltic agglomerates on the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises between the southernmost colony of Adelie penguins and the edge of the ice cap on the ice-free western slope of Mount Bird . To the south it is bordered by Shell Glacier and to the north by the Fitzgerald Stream .

Scientists from a 1958-1959 campaign of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition (NZGSAE) named him. It is named after the American geologist Charles G. Johnson from the United States Geological Survey , who explored the areas around Beaufort Island and Cape Bird during this time .
