Joice Maduaka

Joice Maduaka (born September 30, 1973 in London ) is a British sprinter .

At the Commonwealth Games in 1998 in Kuala Lumpur she was seventh over 100 m and won bronze with the English team in the 4 x 100 meter relay . In 1999 she reached the quarter-finals at the World Athletics Championships in Seville over 100 m and 200 m and came in eighth with the British 4 x 100 meter relay.

The following year she reached the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney over 200 m and in the 4-by-100-meter relay in the semifinals; over 100 m she was eliminated in the preliminary run.

In 2002 she was sixth over 200 m at the Commonwealth Games in Manchester and took bronze again with the English relay. The following season she was sixth over 60 m at the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham . At the 2003 World Cup in Paris / Saint-Denis, she fell out over 100 m in the semi-finals and over 200 m in the quarter-finals. In 2004 she reached the quarter-finals over 200 m at the Olympic Games in Athens .

At the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg in 2006 , she was fourth over 100 m and won silver with the British 4 x 100 meter relay. At the 2007 World Cup in Osaka she reached the quarter-finals over 200 m, at the Commonwealth Games 2010 in New Delhi she was fourth over the same distance.

She was English champion over 100 m five times (1998, 1999, 2002, 2003, 2006), three times over 200 m (1999, 2004, 2006) and four times in the hall over 60 m (1998, 2002-2004). In 2009 she became British champion over 100 m, in the hall she won the British title over 60 m in 2009 and 2010 and in 2008, 2010 and 2011 over 200 m.
