The joint venture was a songwriter duo from Bonn , which existed between 1993 and 2000.

history

The joint venture was founded in 1993 by Martin "Kleinti" Simon and Götz Widmann . The duo's first appearance took place in October 1993 in the Folktreff pub in Bonn . Widmann and Simon wrote in their German texts, which were mostly intended for entertainment, about everyday topics, politics , sexuality , alcohol , hashish and other drugs . In addition to the majority of self-written songs, there were some cover versions of well-known songs with their own lyrics, such as Spucken geht ( Yesterday ) and Ellis ( Living next door to Alice ). They accompanied their songs with two acoustic guitars and a harmonica (Simon e.g. Süffelmann). Occasionally a kazoo (e.g. ass) was used. Joint ventures were at the beginning of a newer German songwriting scene (also songwriting), as they were clearly differentiated from the songwriters who came from the 1970s. Many joint venture songs can be found as cover versions in various German-speaking groups. There are cover versions of the song Tach, Herr Chef von Vicki Vomit and the a cappella band Viva Voce . The song Süffelmann was covered by the Cologne Kölschrock group Brings . The name of the debut album Dinger does not come from the word thing for something unspecific, but is a play on words from poet and singer. Joint venture had originally intended to call things instead Songwriter, as songwriters not at this time more in trend were.

On June 5, 2000, Martin Simon died unexpectedly of a heart attack , which meant the end of the joint venture. About 300 friends, fans and relatives came to the funeral in the cemetery on Buchenhang at the foot of Bonn's Venusberg. Among the mourners were u. a. the artist Gottfried Helnwein and the comedian Ingo Appelt . Since then, Götz Widmann has appeared as a solo artist and still plays old joint venture pieces at his concerts.
