Jon Skinstad (* 1987 ) is a Canadian cross-country skier and biathlete .

Jon Skinstad, brother of Kai Skinstad , starts for the Camrose Ski Club . At the North American Championships in the Summer Biathlon 2008 in Canmore , he finished the races on roller skis as 14th of the individual, 22nd of the sprint and 19th of the pursuit. The next major event was the North American Championships 2009 in Valcartier , where Skinstad was 23rd in the individual and 21st in the sprint. With Nathan Smith and Tatiana Vukadinovic he was also eleventh in the mixed relay as a substitute for Alberta 2 . At the Western Canadian Championships in Edmonton in 2009 he won the individual and sprint titles. In January 2010 he won his first two races in the Biathlon NorAm Cup in La Patrie with a sprint and a pursuit . However, these races were very weak. The Canadian finished twelfth in the overall standings. In 2010 he achieved a podium result in a well-filled NorAm Cup race for the first time in Canmore as third place in the season's opening sprint. Skinstad studies at the University of Alberta , his younger brother Kai Skinstad is also a cross-country skier.
