Jonas Bager (born July 18, 1996 ) is a Danish football player . He is under contract with the Belgian club Royale Union Saint-Gilloise and was part of the Danish junior national team.

Career

In his childhood he joined HØST IF and later moved to Randers Freja before joining partner club Randers FC . Bager made his debut in the men's division on July 9, 2015 in a 3-0 win in the second leg in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League against UE Sant Julià . On November 28, 2015 he made his debut in the Superliga (first division) when he came on for the injured Mads Agesen in the 58th minute of the 1-0 win on matchday 17 . Bager came this season to a use in the qualification for the Europa League, to two appearances in the Danish cup competition and to three appearances in the Superliga. Randers FC finished sixth in the table this season. In the following season he played in 16 games and finished seventh in the table with Randers FC, which was equivalent to qualifying for participation in the relegation round, in which the East Jutians took first place in the table and thus participated in the play-offs for the European League qualification secured. After victories against Aalborg BK (2: 0/2: 1) and Odense BK (1: 1/2: 0) Randers FC were eliminated in the third round against FC Midtjylland . Bager came to a total of nine missions. He also played in three games in the Danish cup competition.

For the 2019/20 season, Bager moved to the Belgian second division Royale Union Saint-Gilloise . There he signed a three-year contract with an option for another year.

National team

Jonas Bager played for the Danish U-16 national team , three for the U-17 , five for the U-18 , eight for the Danish U-19 and two for the U20. On January 20, 2016, Bager made his debut in a goalless tie in a friendly in Belek, Turkey against Ukraine for the Danish U-21 national team .

Due to his age, he can no longer compete for the U-21 national team. He only played friendlies for this. At the U-21 European Championship in 2019 , he was in the squad, but was actually not used.
