Jonathan Nyepa (born March 26, 1996 ) is a Malaysian athlete who specializes in sprinting .

Athletic career

Jonathan Nyepa gained his first international experience at the Student World Games in Gwangju in 2015, where he was eliminated in the quarter-finals over 100 and 200 meters. He then came fourth at the Southeast Asian Games in Singapore with the relay in 39.67 s. In 2017 he took part in the Asian Championships in Bhubaneswar , where he finished fifth with the Malaysian 4 x 100 meter relay in 39.98 s and was eliminated over 100 meters in the semi-finals. He then finished fifth at the Southeast Asian Games in Kuala Lumpur in 10.66 s and came fourth with the relay in 39.27 s. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time and finished seventh with the Malaysian relay. At the end of August he took part in the Asian Games in Jakarta for the first time and reached the semi-finals in the 100-meter run , in which he was eliminated with 10.46 seconds. He was also disqualified in the final with the Malaysian relay. In 2019 he retired at the Summer Universiade in Naples with 10.47 seconds in the lead over 100 meters. At the beginning of December he reached fourth place over 100 meters at the Southeast Asian Games in Capas in 10.60 s and was seventh over 200 meters in 21.41 s. He also won the bronze medal behind the teams from the Philippines and Thailand in the mixed 4 x 100 meter relay in 42.40 s.

In 2018 Nyepa became Malaysian champions over 100 and 200 meters as well as in the 4 x 100 meter relay.
