Jonathan Raban
Jonathan Raban (born June 14, 1942 in Norfolk , England ) is a British writer .
Life and work
Raban studied at the University of Kingston upon Hull . He lives in Seattle today . Raban is best known as a travel writer. In doing so, he succeeds in intensively describing the history and the landscape. He writes for The New York Review of Books , The Guardian and The Independent , among others . The writer has received numerous literary awards, including the National Book Critics Circle Award , the Heinemann Award of the Royal Society of Literature , the PEN / West Creative Nonfiction Award, the Pacific Northwest Booksellers' Award, and the Governor's Award of the State of Washington .
