Jonathan Ridgeon ( Jonathan Peter "Jon" Ridgeon ; born February 14, 1967 in Bury St Edmunds ) is a former British hurdler .

Ridgeon won the bronze medal in the 60-meter hurdles at the World Indoor Athletics Games in Paris in 1985 . The following year he was second behind his compatriot and later two-time world champion Colin Jackson at the first World Athletics Championships in Athens in the 110-meter hurdles . At the European Athletics Championships in 1986 in Stuttgart, he reached sixth place.

Ridgeon celebrated perhaps his greatest sporting success at the World Athletics Championships in Rome in 1987 . Over 110 meter hurdles, he set his personal best of 13.29 s and took the silver medal behind defending champion Greg Foster from the United States. Shortly before, Ridgeon had secured the title at the Universiade in Zagreb at exactly the same time .

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in 1988 in Budapest, Ridgeon finished second in the 60-meter hurdles behind the Czechoslovak Aleš Höffer . In the same year he was fifth in the 110-meter hurdles at the Olympic Games in Seoul . Then he mostly competed in the 400-meter hurdles . At the Athletics World Cup in Havana in 1992 , he finished second over this distance, at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta he reached the semi-finals.

Jonathan Ridgeon is 1.83 m tall and weighed 75 kg during his playing days. He started for the Belgrave Harriers . After the end of his active career, he worked as an athletics expert for Sky Sports and the BBC, among others . He is also on the management board of the sports event agency Fast Track .
