Jorge Grau

Jorge Grau (born October 27, 1930 in Barcelona , Spain , † December 26, 2018 ) was a Spanish film director , painter and screenwriter . In addition to horror films, dramas and comedies, he also made many short films and documentaries.

Life

Grau began his film career as an assistant director in films such as "Diez Rifles Espera" (1959) by José Luis Sáenz de Heredia and "Un hombre en la Red" (1957) by Riccardo Freda . His drama "Acteón" was shown at the 4th Moscow International Film Festival . In 1973 he directed "Ceremonia sangrienta" (also known as "Legend of Blood Castle" and "The Female Butcher") with Ewa Aulin . In 1974 he made the zombie film "Sleeping Corpses Lie", also known as "Don't Open the Window". The film ran with Wes Craven's "Last House on Left" in many US drive-in cinemas .

British director Edgar Wright dedicated his fake trailer "Don´t" to Grau in 2007, which he directed for the Grindhouse project by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez .
