Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa

Jorge Nuno de Lima Pinto da Costa (born December 28, 1937 in Porto ) is a Portuguese trained banker and has been president of the football club FC Porto since 1982 .

Pinto da Costa attended the Jesuit school in Santo Tirso and became a member of FC Porto at the age of 16. His official career began in 1962 when he head of the roller hockey department was. After a stopover in the boxing department , he joined the football department in 1975 . In 1980 he was appointed to the full board, and on April 17, 1982 he was elected President. From July 1995 to December 1996 he was also President of the Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional , the umbrella organization for Portuguese professional football.

During his tenure, the club celebrated its greatest successes to date; numerous international and national successes were achieved in football, such as winning the UEFA Champions League in 1987 and 2004 and the Penta , the five-time championship from 1995 to 1999, and numerous successes in the handball , basketball and roller hockey departments .

In 2005 his autobiography Largos Dias Têm 100 Anos was published .
