Jorge Patricio Vega Velasco
Jorge Patricio Vega Velasco SVD (born June 12, 1957 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean religious and Roman Catholic prelate from Illapel .
Life
Jorge Patricio Vega Velasco joined the religious order of the Steyler Missionaries , made his profession on March 1, 1983 and was ordained a priest on December 22, 1984 .
Pope Benedict XVI appointed him Prelate of Illapel on February 20, 2010, and he was inducted into office on April 30 of the same year. The Archbishop of Santiago de Chile , Cardinal Francisco Javier Errázuriz Ossa , consecrated him bishop on April 17th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Rafael de la Barra Tagle SVD, Prelate Emeritus of Illapel, and Carlos Eduardo Pellegrín Barrera , Bishop of Chillán .
