Joris Michael Harteveld (born July 2, 1968 in Gobabis ) is a Namibian racing cyclist .

Joris Harteveld has been a competitive cyclist since 2008. In 2010 he was Namibian champion in the road race and finished in the individual time trial in second place. In the same year he won the overall classification of the Windhoek Pedal Power Time Trial and Hill Climb . In 2012 he finished seventh in the national championship.

Harteveld was 42 years old when he became national champion. He started cycling because he was diagnosed with diabetes in 1996 . As a result, he changed his lifestyle and started exercising. He explained that he wanted to prove to other people with chronic illnesses with his sporting successes that sport can improve the individual quality of life. He himself was able to reduce his insulin intake by 38 percent. His then 13-year-old daughter noted the development of his values ​​and won a prize at her school for this project. Harteveld works as a financial advisor.
