Erik Hoffmann (born August 22, 1981 in Windhoek , Namibia ) is a German-Namibian cyclist .

Career

Erik Hoffmann has a Namibian passport and came to Germany for the first time in 2001 after graduating from high school in 2000. His family lives in the fourth generation in Namibia.

Hoffmann won the Namibian championships three times in the individual time trial and twice in the road race , as well as twice the Nedbank Cycle Classic .

In Germany he drove first with 1. RV Stuttgardia and then with RSV Ebnet. In 2006 and 2007 he drove for the German Continental Team Lamonta . For this team he won a stage of the Circuito Montañés in 2007 . At the B World Championships in 2007 he was able to win the silver medal and thus secure a starting place for Namibia at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing . There he finished 22nd in the road race.

Hoffmann has been studying electrical engineering at the University of Stuttgart since 2001 . In October 2009 he completed his studies in laser technology. He lives in Stuttgart .
