After the doping ban against the former German champion and Giro stage winner Danilo Hondo was lifted by a Swiss court , he signed a contract with Lamonta in April 2006. His first start for Lamonta was on the International Tour of Lower Saxony , which he finished second in the overall ranking.
Successes include a. Overall victory of the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour by Björn Glasner , the German runner-up title by Stefan Schumacher as well as stage victories in the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour and the Tour of Qinghai Lake in China.
At the end of 2008, the team gave back their Continental license and disbanded. The successor was the cycling department of SC Wiedenbrück , which also dissolved in 2013.
2005 season
The 2005 season was a thoroughly successful one for the team from Rheda-Wiedenbrück. In April , Marcel Sieberg was able to win the "little Paris-Roubaix", the Ronde van Drenthe , and thus celebrate the greatest success of his young professional career .
Team leader Holger Sievers himself took care of the next major success . He finished eighth in the traditional race around the Henninger tower . The final stage of the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour also went to the Lamonta team, in the person of Christoph von Kleinsorgen . At the Bayern Tour , the team secured third place in the team classification. On the last stage, Christoph von Kleinsorgen fell so badly that he lost consciousness and had to be flown to the University Clinic Erlangen in a rescue helicopter.
In July Björn Glasner won the team's home race, the Wiedenbrücker Nacht in front of 7,000 spectators. Also in July, Stefan Cohnen won the fourth stage of the Tour of Qinghai Lake in China and achieved seventh place overall.
On the final day of the 21st Regio-Tour , Steffen Weigold won two mountain classifications and thus secured the blue jersey of the best driver in the mountain classification. At the Hessen Tour , the team made it onto the winner's podium in the team classification. Behind Team T-Mobile and Intel-Action , Lamonta came third. Marcel Sieberg finished 2nd in the Belgian race Omloop van het Houtland . The final point of the 2005 season was the recovered Christoph von Kleinsorgen .
