José Antonio Rodríguez (* 28. March 1964 in Cordoba , Spain ) is a Spanish flamenco - guitarist , composer and music - Professor .

Prices

In the 1980s he won various national prizes, including the Primer Premio para Guitarra Flamenca de Concierto in 1982 at the XI Certamen Nacional de Guitarra Flamenca in Jerez de la Frontera and in 1986 the Premio Ramón Montoya at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco .

professorship

In 1984, when he was only 20 years old, he became the youngest professor of flamenco guitar at the Conservatorio Superior de Música de Córdoba .

Compositions

He composed pieces for films , television , ballet and orchestra .

• In 1987 he composed the orchestral work “Guajira para guitarra flamenca y orquesta”.
• In 1990 he also wrote “Viento de libertad” for the orchestra.
• In 1992 he was commissioned by the Bienal de Arte Flamenco "Ciudad de Sevilla" with the composition , orchestration and musical direction of the show "Tango".
• Also in 1992 he was involved in the recording of the piece "Sevilla Es Así" for the opening program of the EXPO 1992 in Seville .
• In 1994, together with Joan Albert Amargós , he composed the work “Réquiem”, world premiere by the Compañía Andaluza De Danza with a choreography by Mario Maya .
• In 1996 he brought out his work “Viento de Libertad” under the conductor Joan Albert Amargós in a new orchestration.
• In 1997 he composed the work “El Jaleo” for the Centro Andaluz de Danza with a choreography by María Pagés and Fernando Romero.
• In 2001 he brought out “El guitarrista azul” as an orchestral work.
• In 2003 he wrote the work "Tiempo" for the Ballet Nacional de España . It premiered on January 23, 2004 with a choreography by Joaquín Grilo.
• He has also released five solo albums to date.
