José Jiménez Lozano
José Jiménez Lozano (born May 13, 1930 in Langa ; † March 9, 2020 in Valladolid ) was a Spanish writer , essayist , journalist and poet .
biography
José Jiménez Lozano was born in Langa, a village in the province of Avila , in 1930 . After studying at the Universities of Salamanca and Valladolid, he worked for the Spanish daily newspaper El Norte de Castilla from 1958, worked as an editor from 1962 to 1978, then became deputy editor-in-chief and editor-in-chief in 1980 before retiring in 1995.
In 2002 he won the Cervantes Prize . In 2017 he was awarded the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice order.
