Josef Allram (local poet)
Josef Allram (born November 22, 1860 in Schrems , Lower Austria ; † December 29, 1941 in Mödling ) was an Austrian local poet and teacher . He got his nickname Waldviertler Sepp because of his occupation with the Waldviertel . He wrote plays and travelogues. Among other things, he dealt with the Waldviertel magician Gokulorum . Josef Allram supported the erection of several Robert Hamerling memorials.
Life
Even as a schoolboy, Josef Allram had the talent to capture events in his immediate surroundings in a humorous way. Even back then, taunts , one-act plays and stories about events from school were published.
After graduating from the teacher training college, Allram was first a teacher and then a school director in Vienna. He later moved to Mödling , where he died on December 29, 1941. But his whole life he was closely connected to the Waldviertel, which is evident in the Waldviertel stories , his guide the Lower Austrian Waldviertelbahn and his hunting stories .
All his great admiration went to Robert Hamerling, for whom he had a memorial erected and made a brochure available, the proceeds of which were donated to the Hamerling Monument Committee . Josef Allram was remembered by those around him as a poet who was able to describe his homeland in a sensitive and humorous way.
