Josef Alois Schachtner

Josef Alois Schachtner (born October 19 or November 19, 1758 in Olomouc ; † May 8, 1830 in Vienna ) was Apostolic Field Vicar of the Austro-Hungarian Army from 1827 to 1830 .

Life

Schachtner was ordained a priest on April 5, 1783 and had been field chaplain in Cavalry Regiment No. 1 since 1788 , transferred to the Imperial Arcièren Life Guard in 1808 , promoted to field superior in 1810 and field consistorial director in 1818. On July 16, 1827 he was appointed Apostolic Field Vicar and titular abbot of Lébény ( Hungary ) by Emperor Franz I. Schachtner was also the Dome of Honor of the St. Pölten Cathedral Chapter.
