Lance M. Fritz

Lance Monson Fritz (born 1963) is an American manager . He is Chairman , President and CEO of Union Pacific Corporation , America's largest rail company.

Life

Lance M. Fritz studied at Bucknell University until 1985 and completed his bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering . He then studied at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University and in 1991 received a Master in Management. He then worked at Cooper Industries Ltd. until 1994 . in the merchandising area. He then moved to General Electric and worked in various corporate divisions until 1997. From 1997 to 2000 he held a managerial position at Fiskars Inc.

In July 2000 he moved to Union Pacific Railroad and was responsible for the energy division in the marketing and sales department. From February 28, 2005, he was Vice President for the Northern Region, and later the Southern Region. Afterwards he was responsible for the personnel as well as for the operational business (from September 1st 2010). He was the designated successor to the previous CEO, President and Chairman John J. Koraleski . As part of the planned transition of company management, he became President and Chief Operating Officer of Union Pacific Railroad on February 6, 2014 . On February 6, 2015, he was appointed to the board of directors of Union Pacific Corporation and became President and CEO of Union Pacific Corporation. On October 1, 2015, he became the company's chairman.

Since April 2015 he has been on the supervisory board of the Mexican subsidiary Ferrocarril Mexicano .

In addition to his work at Union Pacific, he is Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of American Railroads and sits on the Board of Directors of the American Chamber of Commerce .

He is married and has two children.
